Dignitaries gather for the groundbreaking for the Laughlin Lagoon project Tuesday. The ceremony included hearing from several guest speakers about how long it has taken for the project to get off the ground, the shovel ceremony and dinner. Many dignitaries attended the event but missing was former U.S. Sen. Harry Reid, who couldn’t attend due to illness. The project is to dredge the lagoon with plans to make it a tourist attraction.
